Multilingual internet conference, Melbourne, 0ctober 30th - 31st,
2000 - Call for Papers
Australia lays claim to being one of the world's most culturally diverse and multilingual
countries. When it comes to the internet, how true is this claim of our local content and
industry? This day is devoted to exploring what Australia has done so far, and what the
possibilities might be.
Papers and/or workshops (of up to 45 minutes duration) from academics (referred papers),
developers, and information organisations (including libraries, government, and the
private sector) are sought for presentation at the conference. All papers &
presentations should be designed for non-specialist audiences, and connect theory and
practice.
Abstracts of up to 500 words should be sent to me directly for consideration by the
committee.
More preliminary conference information can be found at http://communityconference.vicnet.net.au/world
