Perceptions and Policies of ‘Sending Countries’

Towards their Citizens and Former Citizens Living Abroad.

Workshop at the London School of Economics,

The workshop aims to highlight an important component in studies of migration, transnational communities/diasporas and international relations: How sending countries or homelands may seek to mobilise political loyalty, curb political dissidence, attract economic investment and remittances or even distance themselves from their communities abroad.
